About
Who is J. C. Green?
Hi!!
Thank you for stopping in and checking me out.
I'm J.C. Green. I've played piano since I was only three years old.
My parents noticed that I was picking out lullabies on an antique piano that has been passed down through my family since the 1880's.
For my sixth birthday, my Dad came home with a beautiful old, tall upright piano. He and I immediately started lessons.
Over the next ten years, I took lessons from eight teachers each with their own styles and accreditations. My third teacher also taught guitar and voice which I also took. At thirteen I made friends with my future drummer (Frank G) while working my summer job at my family's swim club. We would often get together and practice. (and boy did we need it)
When I entered high school, I joined the band where I played trumpet during marching season and french horn during concert. It was there that I experienced my first concert rush. No drug can compare to the rush you get from a stadium full of screaming fans.
After high school I took a break from music to begin my daytime career in metallurgy.
In 1985, I met a bass player whose name was Richie Dean. We got together with Frank and decided to form a band. So, we got a lead guitarist.... then another, and another. Apparently, there was an outbreak of front man syndrome at that time. We finally found one who hadn't been affected by this disease. We didn't want a frontman/ guitarist. We felt that we should all share the frontman responsibility.
We all had a great time for about ten years. We mostly played covers because that's what most clubs wanted bands to play. We did, however, throw in some originals during our shows. I wrote most of the songs with a little help from Rich and Frank when I'd get writers block.
But, as it's said, "all good things must come to an end." Frank had to move on to raise a family and Rich found a career in over the road trucking.
I was immediately asked to play keys in an established band. Being an established band, they had a great following, and I was welcomed like a long-lost friend. We had a great time for about eight years, when I had to stop playing due to a change in my daytime career that required me to work weekends.
My better half soon noticed an issue with my withdrawal from music. So, she bought me a computer with recording software. With help from our friendly support staff and the great teachers on the Utube, I was on my way. Just as doctors "practice" medicine and attorney's "practice" law, Recording has been a practice for me. I'm still learning every day. There's always something new to try.
Well, that's my story in short and as long as our good Lord lets me, I'll keep on keeping on.
I still have more ideas and as long as I have ideas, I'll keep recording and creating.
Thank you again for checking me out. Please, click over and have a listen if you haven't already. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it. and if you liked it, please share it, and if you didn't, then you never have to hear it again.
I hope and pray you have the best day ever and always remember to say your prayers.
J. C. Green
